The braid kills me!
Was no one paying attention back on DG's May 7th, Lauren Crist set, "Cinoe", when DG, himself, said, "...I have been through a very intense period but now I am ready to contribute more with all the sets I still had to submit and new ones coming."
That seems to imply that he hadn't been contributing sets for some period of time. That is why he hasn't been on here regularly, NOT due to some sort of conspiracy on MA management's part.
Oh you of little knowledge of the system. The set with Mia was over a year old! Not because he just submitted it now, It was "accepted" a year ago. I do not know the exact # now in the holding pattern but but it is many. How do think she miraculously announces "New" sets the day the issue arises. "One scheduled" etc. In the past K has bargained with Delta, "I'll post if you take half pay!" And as to another part of her argument. I'll give you the details about one of my comments. It involves a model that is marginal at best, (IMO) Celeste. When Davi was shooting a set of Sapphira (A top 25 at least model.) she had a younger friend with her that had never posed anywhere before. Sapphira asked Davi to give her a try. He did and submitted several sets of her. Time when by no set published. The all of the sudden she is presented by Luca. And to be honest with the amount of photoshoping he did to her it is har to tell she is the same model Delta shot. Delta worked with her anf her sets have improved. Several of us aware of situation called K on it and she issued an apology but claimed it happened "without her knowledge." When I did my detailed analysis (statistically) of six months of ever set published it "proved: the existence of the "prefered" group of favored by K artists. As I said in my post earlier several are ones with other contractual arrangements with Met such as Met being the "home" of their personal sites. So yes since that has been denied as a factoe the relationship is your right a conspiracy theory. As I also reported my anayalsis also proved the K does one hell of a consitent job of delivering the MetArt product and as such is a very highly valued member of Jon's team. neither prove or disprove the theory that she plays favorites. An almost fummy sidelight regarding Mia. If you recall I cresited her with three appearances on Errotic Archives. Her first two were from a single set submitted by Delta for Met that ended up being split into two got posted over on the sister site. Up until April the two by Delta were her and Delta's only appearances on EA. A film by Slastyonoff was Mia third appearnce there. It was only
Slastyonoff's second appearnce on EA. His first a film of who, Lauren Christ which droped in March. Guess who the two most posted models by Delta are. Yes Lauren and Mia. Nut of course that is just a coincident. One of the problems I have is really immaterial for/to most members. When was a set shot. Since K still uses sets from Erro's archives Jon accuried when he bought EA and set by Erro after the date he retired over three years ago, until he un-retired recently wit sets such as his most recent on his first appearance ever on SexArt with a 30+ year old Suzi Carina, has to be over three years old. Yet in 2015 while he was still retired K posted 33 sets by him. While this fact totally discredits your post, there is an ovious reason for it happening and K doing it. #1 They are free to her since Jon bought the archive. # Erro remains the third highest rated photographer on MetArt even not submitting any thing new for those years he was retired, his work still draws very high scores for his models, Even those also retired. Whie I doubt any others actually pay attention or for that matter care about these type of issues, in my work for Rose and Jon it is my "job" to know as much as can without actually being an "insider". So may I suggest that if you do not know what you are talking about then don't display your lack of knowledge with post such as this, especially without acknowledging like I al most always do, unless it is a hard statistic, that everything I say is simply is in my own opinion or speculation.
In K's reply to hipshot below, she said, "As you are aware, some photographers do not get published as often simply because they do not shoot as much as others." Combine that with DG's comment that I quoted and it is not an uninformed opinion. It is clearly born out by what the two principles involved had to say.
DG wasn't contributing, while other photographers were. Now that he is back to contributing, his sets are once again in the schedule pipeline.
Dark_Storm, Davi was not SHOOTING for some time, as his new job had taken up much of his time.
That did not prevent him from SUBMITTING work that had already been shot, the lion's share of which K rejected out of hand.
Davi has a substantial archive of sets rejected from MA, which, frankly, I hope he resubmits and are finally accepted. Those models are HOT which I know because I am FB friends with him and I've seen pictures from these shoots.
When swlplf told you not to speak of things you didn't know about, that is what he meant ~ you couldn't have known that a) Davi had continued to submit even when he wasn't shooting new material, and b) most of the material he's submitted ~ esp. in that time period ~ was rejected out of hand, including a bunch of new models who never even got a "tryout" here on MA because of that.
Top class girl... ever beautiful...
In this set we get to see Mia in every imaginable position and I must say every last photo shows what a beautiful girl she is!
Hurrah, Mia and Deltagamma. My favorite, my 10, too both of you.
Let me try and put a little historical perspective on our debate today. I have been a member for about ten (10) years now and have observed the evolution of MetArt over this period. When Jon and his team acquired MetArt there were just three sites. MetArt, Met Models, and Errotic Archives the next addition was TLE. We must all remember that first of all MET overall is a business. K was not the content manager when I began but since she was elevated to that position she may have been in that department since then. As members we have no right to know the scope of the total membership but I am willing to bet that those of us that have been around as long as hip and me is not that large. I know some members who hate the new MetArt format while today a good number of members only know that format. I was here before there were comments, and the blog was just an advertising tool under Adam and comments there were not posted until "approved". These two things as they exist told are part of the evolution. With this lead in I will tell you that original Met Models was a site where many models were introduced first. It was almost like a try out site. If a model scored well on Met Models she showed up on MetArt shortly. As I said earlier untimely Met is a business and several of the current 15 sites started independently and and some like Viv Thomas were competitors originally. Jon has brought several in that category into the family. Some worked others did not. With this mutiple site family several issues which we face in now doing our 50+ Club become obvious when we lack of unity of names of both Models and Artist when I put together the history of the model for Rose's posts on 50+ Club blog days. While Delta is Deltagamma on all four of the sites he has been published on other Artist use different names. You have often seen me refer to Luca as Luca/Don, because on SexArt his work appears as by Don Caravaggio. Mia is Mia Sollis everywhere she has appeared but Indiana is Belle on many and even Indi on some. Ariel had a very full career out of the family as Piper Fawn. Once she became a integral member of the family as a producer for SexArt all her appearances were updated to Ariel Piper Fawn or as I nicknamed her APF. As the sites evolve changes must happen and as the Top 50+ shows "out of site and out of mind" as some historic always Top Tenners now have droped to just being in the Top One Thousand. Artist are lucky in that their live on Met is normally far longer than any model. A model that has new sets for over ten years is very unusual as we will see shortly when Suzi Carina joins the 50+ Club. When an artist such as Delta has had a history of non conformity and wiliness to try many new models as with his most recent trip to Latvia he takes a risk. I dare say few members are neutral about his work. You either love it or hate it. Today's comments reflect this. My believe is Met is at its best when it uses both the visions of Artist like him and those who produce according to the "formula". IMO we need both. And too make it clear, yes I vote MORE DELTA!
I have been a member since 2000 and I too say MORE DAVI
Right there with ya!
Yep, MOAR DAVI DELTAGAMMA!!!!
Wow. Between hiding her hair in that unfortunate braid and the so-called artsy black & white photos, this seems like a pretty thoroughly wasted opportunity. :(
Wasted???? I think the hair is cute and as far as the B/W's Why can't you dudes realize they are a bonus not a part of the set. You still get more than 120 regular shots in the set they are simply added on for those that like the artsy side. Met does NOT pay for them thus they cost you nothing and they are always at the end of the set so if you don't care for them simply don't look at them. No one is stuffing them down your throat!
Mmm- Who wouldn't love to hang out with Mia in her boudoir? I love this set sexy, but not overtly so .........
Passions running unusually high in the comments under this set! I should pop some popcorn. :)
This is definitely one of the best of Mia's many great sets to appear on MA. Exceptionally well done. (The b&w pix at the end still seem like an unnecessary affectation to me, but no harm, no foul.)
I'm getting a bit bored with the "political" commentary. You're a photographer and you feel you're being treated unfairly here? I don't care, take your complaints to management. You're a member with an outside relationship with a photographer? That's great, I'm happy for you. But I'm not interested in your 700 word rant about how your fav is getting figuratively screwed. You're a photographer who is coordinating or encouraging the comments by some of your "member-friends"? You'd probably be better off spending that time shooting more stuff and improving the quality of your content.
Write whatever you want, that's your right (as long as you're not insulting a model). But you'll be taken more seriously when you stick to discussing the merits of the content.
Davi hasn't said a word, bibblefuss. It's his fans who've been politicking here. I'm fine with you not liking it, but comments forum is here so that we can express our opinions, just like you can express yours.
As Rose says, anything is fair game, as long as you're not insulting to the models. This is an unprecedented level of politicking, sure, but with Davi's successful history with MetArt and the whole MetArt family, it is ridiculous that his new publications have slowed to a trickle of one every two or three months.
And p.s., bibblefuss, Davi HAS BEEN continuing to shoot, and evolve his style.
He has shared pictures from multiple sets with multiple new models over the last year that were rejected out of hand by K, not even given an introductory set to see if they would succeed or not.
"He has shared pictures from multiple sets with multiple new models over the last year" ~ on FB, I MEANT to say.
This is the basis on which I'm writing these comments.
Hi Rose, hope you got to work on your nude handstands for when you pose for Alex Lynn. Oops, with mask and bikini, of course. Well DG and Mia Solis have done it again, totally blown me away. DG and Mia Should at least give an old man with heart and lung trouble some warning. Of course, since I can't use anything but classic Met, I probably would not get it. DG as usual has once again proven what a great artist he is and Mia Solis is more beautiful than ever. Ihonestly can't tell which I like most,DG's color or B&W of Mia 10 to infinity is too little for them,we need a 20 to infinity button that only appears on classic Met.
Thanks for bringing us one of the founding members of the PP club today. I have to say this is one of the best collaborations between you and Mia yet, and there have been some great ones. You can always see the connection between Davi and Mia, not unlike Davi and Lauren or Davi and any of the models he works with. He always seems to develop a special connection with the models regardless of how many times he has worked with them. I am disappointed that MA and other family sites can't/won't find room to present more than one of his sets per month, if that. He may be a part time photographer, but he is far too talented to be marginalized by the people who run these sites. I may need to let my money do the talking if it continues.
I agree, After over ten years of giving met my money it is beginning to look like met doesn't give a damn what we think and is only looking to make more money!
jb, Davi is one of my top favorites also. It's hard to believe he only has 110 sets here on MA (more on Met sister sites). I know he has gone through some hard times recently with his photography work but is supposedly on a rebound. Like you, I feel that he could be featured here at MA more often. Money does talk, but where else can you find DG than in the Met family sites? K has heard my pleas for more DG, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Hang in there, perhaps there is a resurgence just around the corner.
I can assure you you are not alone. I have made my opinions heard frequently but K seldom responds to anything but the praise and simply ignores the rest.
This surprises me to see, as I check my emails you and I have had over 160 exchanges. As you are aware, some photographers do not get published as often simply because they do not shoot as much as others. I currently have a couple of DG sets on the publishing schedule and more on the way soon.
Also in some cases, I have multiple photographers shooting the same models. In the case of Mia Sollis, I like to mix up the publications so we see the different styles. I have other sets of her shot by DG but members are paying for variety. I publish a set by Luca Helios then Koenart, and then we get back to DG (or anyone else who has shot her).
I know DG is a favorite of yours, I like him very much also which is why you continue to see any sets of him. I have purchased/published over 100 sets on MA, another 50 on SexArt and some on Errotica-Archives.
As always, if you continue to have concerns or questions feel free to email me at K@met-art.com.
Sounds impressive but when you divide 100 sets by the approximate 1100 to 1200 sets published each year on met times the number of years he has been here that comes out to less than 2 sets a month. when other artists from the A team get 15 to 20 sets a month it becomes quite clear that he isn't getting hardly any exposure at all. This month alone Arkisi has 13 sets, Matiss has 11, Leonardo has 10 and the month isn't over yet. On the first 6 months of this year, Arkisi has 45, Leo has 45 and Matiss has 65 seems pretty one sided to me.
I am glad to hear you have a couple on schedule coming soon and I hope you will consider giving him a little more exposure in the future.
Thanks for doing the math, hipshot... I believe that numbers can speak much more loudly than words, in cases like this.
Keep up the great work, K. Most of us don't give a damn who's behind the camera. Beautiful women, beautifully photographed is all that really matters. The idea that the site somehow suffers because any group of photographers is statistically underrepresented is just goofy.
bibblefuss, when I was first a member (and please don't misunderstand me, I'm not trying to talk down to you, since for all I'm aware, you've been a member longer than I ~ I'm just sharing my perspective, not attacking you or your comment) I had a similar attitude to yours.
However, over time, it impressed me more and more clearly that every artist has a distinctive style, and over time, I have amassed a list of artist whose work almost always pleases me and provides almost exactly what I want to see ~ and, a list of artists for whose work I feel not one way or the other ~ and, a list of artists who consistently disappoint my expectations, especially given the caliber of models they work with.
Personally, I feel it's very obvious that the artist's style very heavily influences the set and exactly what I get out of the set. Certain artists focus on one dynamic and certain others focus on other dynamics. Some like to go fancy, others down to earth. Some like to go glam, some like to look more natural. Some go very explicit, some eschew explicit altogether. So clearly, the artist very heavily influences what I get out of a set.
"So clearly, the artist very heavily influences what I get out of a set."
Of course they do. But it's still about what they produce. Saying "I want more sets photographed by X" doesn't make much sense (unless you like X on some personal level and you want to help him/her out). Saying "I want more sets that are more/less glam, more/less explicit, more/less sharp, more/less well-lit" makes sense.
In today's comments I don't see much "I want to see more DG sets because they are ...". It's all about numbers and quotas and "fairness". And that's fine, but not the way you want to run a business if your goal is keeping the maximum number of customers as happy as possible.
It makes perfect sense if the artist you are referring to has a perfect record of producing exactly the kind of sets you want to see. (: That first list I was talking about are very very consistent both in the quality of their work but also in the content. Some of them are more experimental than others ~ but I know if I see their name, I can expect a good set and 99% of the time, I'm right.
So, for me, it makes perfect sense. The reason I became a friend of Davi's elsewhere (on FB) is because I grew to like his work so much. If I didn't like his work, I would not have become his friend, and I would not be asking for his work, since every set published of his could potentially push out a set by one of my favorite artists. In other words: I like his work ~ that's why I ask for more of it. (:
I had begun to think K had forgotten about our friend Davi. But here he's back in triumph, with a beautiful set of one of MA's legendary models, Mia Sollis.
I like the fact that it's a bedroom set, sure, but I also like the fact that the color palette is lighter than Davi usually shoots in. This displays Mia to her advantage, IMO, and also gives the set a lighter, more carefree feeling to it.
This lighter color palette is a new direction for Davi, IMO, one he should consider following in future work... (:
I will NOT let her forget! C'mon, K, we want MORE DG!!!!
Yep...................What Kilroy Say!!
Whatever way one looks at Mia she is beautiful and I just love the soft relaxed manner of the shoot!
Pretty sure I would impregnate her just walking past her on the street
This is Delta’s, I think, 13th time he has presented her in the Met Family. Six times here on Met. Twice on SexArt, Three times on TLE, and Twice on Errotic Archives. Ironically the first set he ever shot of her was not Posted til March this year. The set today was shot one year ago and is the last set Delta ever shot in Italy before moving. It was shot over a weekend at a sea side villa and Phi was along so it was as much a perfect get -away as a session. The relationship she shares with Delta and Phi always seems to show in her sets with Delta and how at ease she is. I’ll be back to Delta in a moment but more about Mia.
As of today Mia stands as #14 with a 9.13 rating on MetArt, On SexArt she is # 8 with a 9.35 rating. She was one of Rose & Mine’s first 50+ Club members and today marks her 52 appearance. If you want more detail about one of out top gingers review the Blog post from when she joined the club. If you want more from her personally click on the little mike on her home pages and read her interview with Rose. (One of Rose’s first for MetArt. )
While I seldom mention work by a model not for the family in this case I will. Recently Mia was accepted to a Suicide Girl in one sense she may ne one of the least pierced and tattooed model there, her stunning back tattoo, we seldom even see part off does qualify her. (The only clear shot of it was featured on the blog post when she entered the 50+ Club and it was shot by DeltaGamma.)
I will also share a non modeling snippet about Mia. Mia had been at a shot in Belgium right before the attack at the airport there and had left only about 12 hours before through the same area attacked. To say that shook her up would be an understatement. She has been very busy in the fashion and advertising arena all over Europe and beyond this year. I hope we see a lot more of her this year.
I started this before the set dropped. I now have reviewed, it and can comment. First of all I have to agree with Neil about the IMO ridiculous hateful post by Aya00 25 minutes age it is now 3:28 which means he posted this when the set had been up for three (3) minutes. A typical oversize set by Delta of 167 pictures I don’t care how fast your connection and computer are there is no was to review 167 photo’s in that time, Oh and Aya00 you “forgot” to bitch about the fact he did include a small # of B&W and a couple of desats. Your slipping.
Now what I see Delta has always tried to do existing light work and strove for a natural look of his models. From Mia’s hair in the braid which I don’t think we have seen before because she uses it to kelp conceal the tat, to the subtle if any make-up. To beginning the set “dressed” as K has been looking for to her obvious lack of formal posing mote natural comfortable movement. And then the head shots which are some of the best natural and comfortable with the teasing smile shots of her I have ever seen. I have to ask the question. “What in the hell were you looking at?”
Yes I am on a rant now. There has been a group of artist always for the family who only want to shot for the MetArt family since IMO, and apparently theirs, it is the #1 site in its genre, that are not exclusively photographers and have a real life and jobs outside of the fantasy world of nude work. On the one hand the “contract” family photographers that in many cases have their own sites serviced or owned by MetArt produce a ton of product. For me it is when these “part-timers” do get posted wh see some of the most creative sets ever and many new models first submitted to K even if they are in many cases then shot by a house artist and “Presented” by them. When I tracked every set published for 6 months a year or two ago it was obvious who these preferred artist were, I also proved that K delivers the product even better than many members accused her of. And dealing with only a small group of them is probably less of a hassle than the others. But are we falling into a orthodoxy of sameness and losing the creativity brought by the likes of Delta.
As always all of this is just “In MY Opinion” so how do all of you feel....???
Damn, Frank, another two-pager. But you know I agree with you 100% on this issue. DG has brought something different here to Met, something good, and could be a more regular contributor, I feel. Why can't DG be featured here more often?
swplf, I am happy that you and hipshot have raised the issue ~ it is the 800 lb gorilla in the room, ain't it?
I am quite certain my personal opinion will be quite obvious, given my past championing and cheerleading for Davi, so I don't need to repeat myself. I will heartily endorse everything you and hipshot have said, though.
I totally agree with you, right down the line. And I for one, love Mia's tat, and I am VERY glad she is being so successful. And last but not least, I agree DG should have his own site
I Feel That Delta Gamma has been Vastly Underserved as an Artist. He was MIA for Quite Awhile and I was Happy on His Return to Active Duty. This was Followed by an Immediate Lull. I Want More of His Work Made Available Not Less. So, I'm Hoping That The Powers That Be Provide Delta Gamma with The Platform Necessary for Any Artist to Flourish. Please Make This Happen as of Yesterday!!!
This set is almost 2 years old and was shot in Rome! There are several memorable sets from that shoot. This one was done in a mint green room and DG chose to use the color cast imparted by the room to give a softer touch and one that has not been seen on MA. The darker hair color results from that color cast but Mia does change her hair color from darker to lighter from time to time. It is also dependent on the season and the time she has spent outdoors. Pulling it back and braiding it also darkens it. I really like this softer light and the way it makes her light skin less noticeable. It really works on those intimate closeups!
As for the amount of exposure that he has been getting of late I think he should start offering his work to other networks. I think the way he and others are being treated by K is disgraceful! I really respect him for sticking to the network but I feel he is being used and that of late K has been showing just how unfair her selection process is. Go back over the last month and the trend will be quite obvious. There are several artists that appear almost ever day and others that that are lucky to get one a month if that. I am sorry for this outburst but facts is facts and they are as clear as the nose on your face when you take the time to look! Up until recently I supported K and the work she has been doing but the more I look the clearer it is that politics is what it is all about!
I am sure this post will soon disappear but at least I expressed my feelings. I have been with metart for many years and have been very supportive and spent uncounted hours contributing to the network and paying my way but I am beginning to question that loyalty.
The above post better not "disapper" if we are to accept the IMO abise of the 1ers because of "if they pay they can do as they please" then since none of "rules" of personal attack or bad language were used then this is a paying member simply expressing his own opinion on a situation we all should take note of and discuss.
The main reason comments get deleted is if they are offensive towards the model. Expressing your opinion (so long as it is done respectfully) is absolutely fine. I can tell you that trying to second-guess K's selection process is utterly pointless - she has many criteria to take into account, and as I'm sure all the artists will tell you, she is friendly and fair to all.
You must communicate with nothing but the first line artists because I can assure you that there is much descent in the ranks outside K's preferred list!
By the way, K already has a new photoset from Deltagamma scheduled for July 1st, and another which is prepared but not yet scheduled. She is a fan of his work, as am I. If she didn't like it, she wouldn't use it... as I'm sure you can imagine, we have no shortage of artists clamoring to get featured on MetArt... only the elite make it!
Rose, I will heartily agree with EVERYTHING you've said here except I hope you'll understand why (as an avid Davi fan) I find your characterization of K as a "fan" of Davi as rather a "whopper."
Now... is she willing to tolerate him and publish some of his work from time to time, for the sake of we, his fans? Sure. She's a professional, after all.
But she is CLEARLY not a fan of his.
Which is entirely OK... I just wish she would hold her nose more often and publish more of his work, especially the new models he recruits. He's previewed some very nice models on FB for his fans that were rejected out of hand by K, not even an introductory set, and I think more of them would have succeeded than K seems to believe.
Agreed, but DG could always use more.(so could I having just been approved for welfare) DG works outside of photography, since like most artists he can't help but create and can't afford to live on his creations I think Frank is saying that DG is good enough to HELP with recommendations, etc. At least that's what I think he's saying and I agree. Met is tops, a good recommendation can help no end.
I am delighted to see Delta Gamma's work again. It seems like we see his work all too infrequently.
Hear, hear, I was afraid K had forgotten him altogether, or worse.
Just call this a washed-out set.
Of a great model.
I could not disagree more. I think it is a great set of a pretty plain model!
Call it what you like. It IS your opinion and really only matters to you!
Are you sure this is Mia Sollis?
Where is the flaming red hair?
The adorable freckles covering her face?
The lovely skin tones that Koenart photographed so well?
I love Mia Sollis, but she needs a better photographer to present her natural beauty.
Aya00 - I'd just like to say that I didn't take your comments as being particularly rude.
We all have our own favorite photographers and our own favorite styles in which the models are photographed. While I think this set is fine, you certainly had the right to express your own, differing opinion about it.
I've expressed the same sentiments elsewhere, myself, when I thought a model would be better served being photographed by another photographer.
If that's the way you feel, you have every right to express that opinion. Other members are free to rebut that opinion (as I did previously), but you shouldn't have been raked over the coals for expressing it.
For future reference, tongue-in-cheek remarks are best followed by a wink to show it's meant to be humorous. That way, it cuts down on confusion and misreading the intent. ;-)
I looked at the set before breading the comments. One of the first things I noticed was how well Mia's freckles stood out.
Considering that there doesn't seem to be much artificial lighting used in this set, I think this is as close to Mia's natural beauty that you're gonna get, unless you see her in person.
What a rude comment. Mia is a truly beautiful woman and Delta Gamma has done an excellent job at presenting her. I see beautiful red hair and plenty of those perfectly placed freckles. Mia Solis is a great world class model. She is quite capable of changing and modifying her beautiful features.
I Agree Neil! Keep on Preaching Bro!!
She is indeed! She is in Australia right now shooting and this year so far she has shot in many country's all over the globe. I you can't tell this is Mia you need a trip to the eye doctor!
When I wrote "Are you sure this is Mia Sollis?",
I was being tongue-in-cheek, or trying for a bit of humor.
I knew it was Mia, because the page states: "Featuring: Mia Sollis".
I assume you were being humorous when you wrote: "I you can't tell this is Mia you need a trip to the eye doctor!"
Unless you are prescribing with a professional degree, of course.
I knew that you were being facetious and I was too but I sure don't need a header to know it is Mia. That cover photo screams Mia and I don't mean the text! I am friends with Mia and she is a very unique and genuinely nice person.
Hip...........Mia has A Close Friendship with Davi as well, Does She Not!?!? I Mean Above and Beyond The Professional Level Model Artist Relationship which Defines Their Set Production.
Mia is friends with Davi and Phi (Davi's wife)and their cat! from everything I hear from all sides Mia is a very personable, professional and hard working model that everyone loves to work with.
