I never cease to be amazed at the amount of utterly childish bile generated by differences in people's photographic preferences. I see no reason why one can't state one's likes and dislikes politely, and without all the vitriol.

I absolutely loved this shoot. We all know that there are plenty who don't enjoy outdoor or sand or water or clothes and insist on spread vaginal close ups in every series... But I just enjoyed the heck out of this set. One of many shoots where I really envy the photographer. Thanks to all involved. A real treat!

I enjoyed this series a lot and was very much taking in by the "not typical studio lighting". It's a creative choice, and I understand that it works for some and not for others, but it definitely DID work for me. I loved it. Enjoyable in the extreme for me.

I get the feeling that this is not how Macy's eyebrows would look if she just let them grow naturally and trimmed them only slightly. The edges are super clean and crisp here, and I have an entirely personal preference for more un-enhanced, natural eyebrow look ... a softer edge, so to speak. It's just me, and I know that, which is why I put it in the preferences section of my comment. I think a lot of models and photographers go for a more glamorous treatment of the eyebrows, and as long as I can remember it's always rubbed me ever-so-slightly the wrong way.
Wednesday, April 16th, 2014 on Erinma
THINGS I LOVED ABOUT THIS SHOOT: Macy is one of my personal top 3 favorites of all time!! and looks fabulous here. The outdoor shots in particular were very enjoyable. Rylsky definitely does wonderful work with Macy and I'm always glad to see them both, especially collaborating.
I MIGHT PREFER: More natural eyebrow treatment, poses with more variation / interaction with environment and attention to rear view.

Having shot outside for years, I'd differ from y our observation only in that it takes more work to provide the range of poses that are easy to do indoors, but they can be done. I've done a lot of work with models outdoors, and if you simply don't allow yourself the option of minimal poses, forcing yourself to get creative, you can do amazing things outdoors. But it is more work, no doubt.

WHAT I'M LOVIN': Divina's fabulous face and incomparably gorgeous body. #26, 28, 35, 37, 38, 39, well ... you know ... all of them. But 40!?! Seriously? My brain exploded. 47? How is that ... I ... And 57, 58 ... thank you for those. Awesome. 61, yikes! As someone asked once before, what score must I give to push her average to 11!? 74. 87. 88. 94. 95. 99. 105. 107. 111. 114! 119-122. WHAT I'M LOVIN': Seeing Violla, naked. That's always a good thing. :)
MY PREFERENCES: more natural treatment of light and saturation, more relaxed poses.
PHOTO NOTES: Yes, high key is a creative option in photography, but one I've never personally enjoyed. It was really hot a number of years back and very commonly used across a lot of publications ... and personally, I couldn't stand it. It's actually one of the things that got me into photographing women in the first place. BUT ... that's ME. Visual art is about the self-expression of the artist(s) on the one hand, and the appreciation of the viewer on the other, and what we each appreciate as viewers is always going to differ. There's no point in insisting that everyone prefer what we prefer, as it "ain't never gonna happen". Yes, I would make different creative choices if I were working with Violla ... and some of you would love them, and some of you would not. And life would go on. Yes, we have the right to express our views about what we prefer, and to do so energetically. But it gets a bit silly when we come across as though we think our preferences are anything more than that. But wait! My preference about preferences ... is a preference. AHHH!! :)
In the end, it comes down to this ... Dig what you dig, don't what you don't.

WHAT I'M LOVIN: Astrud as the bringer of facial fantasticness and bodily bodaciousness!!! Lots of views of her amazing legs, beautiful bum and other regions of wonder! Glistening ... And perhaps most of all, #77 As much as I enjoyed the numerous great images of Astrud's fabulous sittin' place and other wonders, this image of her countenance just melts me.
MY PREFERENCES: Commentators who do their homework before they strike.

WHAT I'M LOVIN: Solveig!!, and her extremely hot body, plenty of focus on Solveig's beautiful and inexpressibly fantastic bum and lovely legs!
PREFERENCES: The lighting was a bit dicey in places, for whatever reason, but having been there myself, I can sympathize.
PHOTO NOTES: Diggin' on the warm and wonderful skin tones, and very welcoming setup, with nice contrasts of skin with background and nothing washed out. I'm not sure what was going on with the light, but some shots reminded me of when my flash units were misfiring, which will drive one completely bats when it happens and which is why I stopped working with flash. :)
Thursday, April 10th, 2014 on Jalera
I believe his flash set up was misbehaving.
There are clues as to why she does not ...
WHAT I'M LOVIN': Barbara's incredible body and consistently superior hind-view, hair (again? what's with me today) and eyes. Especially love #s 10, 18, 39, 43, 47, 49, 51, 68, 103!, 123, 127, 131, 133.
MY PREFERENCES: Even more images that highlight this charming angel's face, especially the eyes. All of Barbara is stunning!
PHOTO NOTES: Kudos!! Very much diggin' on the soft light. I also like the use of the turquoise background, and that it's a softened brick pattern, not just a smooth surface. Caucasian skin colors tend to be orange based (however lightly toned), which makes the blue family of colors a great contrasting background. But while light blues give great tonal support for fair skinned nudes (it's easier to get great exposures when the tonal difference between subject and background isn't very big), they can be a little cold looking against a nude woman's form. So, the very slight shift into the warmer hues of turquoise really warms things up nicely. Excellent! And the use of smoothed brick as a pattern behind Barbara's body helps to emphasize by contrast all the lovely curves and lines and smooth textures of her gorgeous form and supple skin.

Thursday, April 10th, 2014 on Metode
THINGS I LOVE ABOUT THIS SET: Blissfully adorable model, wonderful range of poses covering all the things I adore, great hair and m/u, just spot on wonderful. 10/10. Jeff has that intoxicating mix of sweet/innocent/cute with incredibly sensual and erotic, all blended in a perfect balance that is just so completely charming, disarming and HOT! And yet ... this set had a very natural, not-over-worked feeling that made it all very approachable and enjoyable. Skill is at its best when it doesn't FEEL like there was intentional control, but all looks so easy and serendipitous. Excellent, simply excellent.
EVEN BETTER FOR ME: darker sheets ... while the light and exposure for Jeff herself is perfect (and big, big thanks on that!!), the blown out white of the sheets in many shots is distracting. Studies have shown that the viewer's eye is drawn to white/light tones (darnit!), so we have to watch this as shooters. It's a curious photography thing ... when we get the subject completely right, and in this case, JUST right!!!, but introduce a distracting element unintentionally. Easy solution? Darker tone sheets. Better contrast that way too.
So, what am I saying, that there's something better than "A truly AMAZING set of Jeff"? ONLY "An amazing set of Jeff, with no distractions." :)

I don't know if the lights caused squinting, but the intensity of the light and exposure choice have reduced the tonal range noticeably, which I find less than ideal for nudes. When we lose tonal range on images of naked flesh, we loose at the same time that sense of "depth of texture" that makes skin look very sensual ... a richness that makes you want to reach out and touch it. In this light/exposure combination, that richness is lost. Just a thought.
Thursday, March 27th, 2014 on Bevande
I love the model, I love the poses and I give he set high marks from a subject and posing point of view. She's hot, and I loved looking at the images.
BUT the photographer makes a light source choice here that drives me bonkers ... to allow light to cross from forward and to one side of the camera across the lens in so many shots gives a milky cast to most of the images that I don't find at all appealing. It washes out the tonal range of the images to the point I can't just ignore it. Photographer's curse ... hard to ignore a feature you don't like when you know how to prevent it.
I understand that others might like this lighting effect, and I'm cool with that. I'm a firm believer that we should all be left to enjoy what we enjoy, no questions asked. But for me, this lighting choice detracts from the intensity of experiencing the forms in the images. If this was an intentional choice, then we just differ in preferences. If it wasn't an intentional choice, perhaps it can be avoided in the future.

Macy is one of my favorite models of all time, bar none. This photo set is not one of my favorites, no fault of Macy's. I consistently get the feeling that this photographer does not know how to pose Macy to her best advantage, and that's a real shame. The awkward looking poses and missed angles are just too numerous to ignore. I can certainly understand being distracted with such an amazing subject, but this just can't continue. It's time Macy find someone who knows how to portray her at her very best, and this isn't it.
Sunday, March 9th, 2014 on Jirgin
Some models just reach out of their images and grab me by the heart and there's just nothing I can do. In such cases I don't always even know just what it is that's driving me so wild. For me, Nensi is just such a model. Thanks for bringing us another set of Nensi, especially the hi-res version, and please do bring us many, many more.

As a buff of breasts in the buff, a follower of fair faces, a big believer in braids, a THorough enTHusiast of THighs and a fanatical freak about fantastic fannies, it is hard to even imagine a woman more thoroughly enjoyable than Melisa A. FAB-U-LOUS!

First off, MANY thanks to both Melisa A and Mark for creating and sharing this set. I know what kind of work goes into producing such a set, and sharing this much breath taking beauty with us is nothing to be taken for granted.
Secondly, this is not an easy lighting situation to deal with as a photographer, and I think Mark did an exceptional job of creating a lot of wonderful exposures that have tons of texture, tonal range and dimensionality for the conditions. Delicious stuff. Thanks!

Ever since I began discovering the women of the former soviet union, I have noticed that there's something about the eyes of many Czech women ... it's exotic feeling to me as a Celtic/Norse/Native American guy. I LOVE it. And yes, it is hard to find a woman anywhere who can beat Melisa A's powerful combination of assets. I don't have one single all time favorite here on Met or elsewhere, but Melisa A is definitely in that group of "very most favorites of all time" ... Wow.

Dear me ... It's so uncommon to see a video dive into such blissful territory so quickly! Hurrah! Exquisite beauty and twice!
I knew there was a reason I took up photography at 11. No chance of forgetting why. Even then it was for taking pictures of pretty girls, even if they were just playing flag football on a sunny day in the park.
I can't imagine my fascination ever waning.
This video is particularly appealing to me personally because of the cultural vignettes. 10 years ago, I knew nothing about this part of the world. It had been locked behind an iron curtain during my formative years, only to be revealed by a delightful invasion of Russian and Ukrainian women into my awareness lead by my Russian born and cultural generous wife. I know this isn't at all typical of what we see here on Met, but for me, it's absolute heaven. Thanks Met, this was a real treat!

By the way ...
"From the Germanic name Hadewig, derived from the Germanic elements hadu "battle, combat" and wig "war". This was the name of a 13th-century German saint, the wife of the Polish duke Henry the Bearded. It was subsequently borne by a 14th-century Polish queen (usually known by her Polish name Jadwiga) who is now also regarded as a saint."
I regard our Edwige as a saint, but it has nothing to do with battle, combat or war. She's just utterly delightful.

PS - also happy to see her in skimpy outfit. :)
Edwige ... happy. :)
There is so much more I could say, but the bottom line is so simple ... I see Edwige, naked, I feel happy.
One of my all time favorite models, Macy 100% rocks.
This set ... not so much.

Gorgeous girl, gorgeous poses, no complaints. But I will agree that there are a few staples of "hot girl photography" that have always baffled me as well ... DD's are one, another is "horrible straw cowboy hats". Why such things become long standing props for photographing women who look so amazing adorned in nothing at all never ceases to amaze me. Thankfully, Alma and Karl helped forget anything but her innate beauty rather quickly.
Monday, February 3rd, 2014 on Pioca
As a photographer of women for the past 14 years, my personal fascination with this set comes first from the striking resemblance this woman has to a gorgeous model I knew long ago. They could be sisters. Moreover, I often wonder at how frequently stunning women from my past closely resemble women on Met-Art. I say that because I'm from an area not known for being the settling grounds for women from Russia or any of the former Soviet states, and yet more and more I find that the resemblance my old contacts had to Met-Art models is so close that they surely must have Ukrainian, Russian, Latvian, Czech or Hungarian blood. It's as if my youthful preferences in models was already tuned to this gene pool. But back then, I had no idea what the common thread amongst these women was. Thanks again Met!

Tracy reminds me ... well, she's a dead ringer for the very first girl I ever fell for as a teenager. Her name was Sandy, but she was the spitting image of this delightful blonde ... the same happy face, the same 'not overly large but perfect breasts', the same utterly divine behind ... perfection.

I LOVE this model ... and I LOVE much of this photographer's work. They're awesome! And I'm incredibly grateful to them both for all their work, including this shoot.
But this shoot doesn't push MY buttons. Do I blame the photographer? Nope? Do I blame the model? Nope.
Why? It isn't a sign of a problem when given shoot doesn't push a given person's buttons.
There are 100,000 items in a big grocery store, yet the average person leaves with less than 100 of them. Should they burn the rest? Nope. It's just life. Preferences are personal and make no sense as a point of argument. Enjoy or don't. If you do, celebrate. If you don't, move on. Simple enough.

I find this attitude utterly pathetic.
As a photographer of women, I too prefer light that accentuates curves and textures to light that tends to hide them by being too bright and too "flat". But, that said, I wouldn't use the word ruined ... like pizza that's a little to crispy ... I'll still eat it. ;)
Tuesday, January 14th, 2014 on Lerdena
I enjoyed this set very much. And I enjoy the fact that Met has photographers who range in style from more artistic to more commercial. I can't say I'd be completely satisfied if it was 100% either. How can more options be bad? :)

Balancing wonder and appreciation with frustration ...
My day-to-day world is not peopled by enough gorgeous, adorable, irresistible women wearing nothing and posing to show off their curves that I can see a set like this and not be moved by very deep appreciation. Divina and most of her Met-Art "co-workers" simply rock. And what they do for us all is just incredible and deserves constant praise and gratitude. I really don't think that can be said enough times, until we live in a world so consistently peopled by naked "hotties" that it all becomes boring ... which seems unlikely in the next few millennium.
On the other hand ...
As a 40 year photographer, 14 of which I've worked with lovely women, I can't help but notice the slight greenish cast of many of these images. As someone trained to notice such things and decide how to handle them, I can't NOT notice them. Like over-exposure, blown focus or depth of field, or any of a range of technical variables in a given shot, someone trained to work with these things all the time can't simply not notice when they're handled either incorrectly or in a way that seems to work against the goal of the shoot.
Similarly, I love variety, and seeing these amazing women in the widest possible variety of appealing settings would be my first preference, and two months in a row of sea-side rocks wouldn't have been my first choice. I DO like a higher percentage of outdoor shoots than some, but yes, I noticed we were back in the same location again and it didn't strike me a as a plus.
But back to balance ...
As observers of these images, and paying customers, we do have the right to voice our frustrations ... but I must admit that as I read through comments on a shoot like this, it often seems like too many sour grapes given the amazing treat we're being offered.
It's a tricky balance ... on the one hand, we want and I think need to show these women and photographers our gratitude for their choice to share so much beauty with us, but when they make choices that, for some of us (which varies shoot to shoot) reduce our enjoyment of what we sense was the full potential of a shoot, should we remain completely silent?
My response is to provide balanced feedback. The key to most puzzles lies in a "both-and" approach, as opposed to an "either-or" approach. Let's let these folks know that we appreciate all they do for us, every time ... and kindly also let them know where we see room for things to get even better.
That's my take.
Sunday, January 5th, 2014 on Alseen
This shoot is what some refer to as "high key", where the white and light tones are almost blown out, and some, of course, will be blown out. Some prefer it, though I've never personally understood the appeal. For me, the loss of fine texture and tonal mid-range is a bummer. It reminds me of that feeling you have when you walk out of a movie theater into a bright, sunlight afternoon and everything is WAY too bright. I understand that we all get turned on by different things, and yes, that's as it should be. I just don't grok the appeal of this approach to lighting and exposure.

I agree with Dennis, the women of Met-Art, as a whole, are my absolute favorites. I LOVE to look at images of women from MANY of the former Soviet republics (Ukraine, Russia, Belorussian, Kazakhstan, Latvia, the Czech Republic just to name a few) and I married an absolute Russian doll ...
But ... to the point of the popularity of Ukrainian models ... of the current top 10 favorite models rated by Met-Art members, 6 are from Ukraine ... 11 of the top 20. Hmmm. There is something to it from my personal point of preference. And apparently my point of view is not especially rare. ;)

Super hot chick, all the way around. In general, I love the shoot as well. But cigarettes ... wow ... what a turn off. I'm sure they have just the opposite effect for some folks, and I'm OK with that. But for me, wish they'd excluded that.
Tuesday, December 24th, 2013 on Kytara
I can't speak for the shooter, but when I crop a lady in one area, it's normally ONLY to fill more of the frame with the part of her I'm aiming at. No offense to the unseen portions of the model, just a shift of concentration. It's always a battle. If you always show the whole girl, then more of the frame is filled with background. Zoom in, lock onto a point of interest, and someone wishes you'd left in this or that bit you didn't. One nice thing about Met is how many shots we get and how much variety that allows for.

I enjoyed this set a lot and this model tremendously. Each model brings something different to the images made with her, and this model may have the most delightful thighs I've seen in many years. Wow! Her body is delightful in general, but I'd save these images for her thighs alone. The fact that I also love the rest of her and the quality of light in this shoot so much helps ... but still. :) Sometimes it's fun to indulge a particularly narrow lust ... and I'm definitely having fun right now.

This shoot sort of sums up the challenge that is "how to approach Met-Art" as an erotic image site. It's certainly not your typical, low budget "just show me somebody to fuck" image repository. With a very nice budget, Met sincerely tries to do something artistic with images that are still plainly and intentionally very erotic and arousing. That said, some shoots are going to (and do) wonder more in the direction of just erotic, not so artistic, with tons of spread shots and very little else. On the other hand, some shoots stray toward being so artistic as to lose some (or all) of the erotic impact. Met's approach is a balancing act. And then there's our personal tastes, which are also all over the map. What some of us love most brings yawns from others, and vice-versa. That's Met ... For those of us who come back, it must be working pretty well. And for those who don't, it's not like there's nothing else to choose from.

Choosing a favorite model on Met-Art is sort of like limiting yourself to one dish at a buffet or one ride at an amusement park ... it kind of defeats the purpose and misses the point. Enjoy it all ... each in different ways, for different reasons, in varying amounts, but enjoy it all.

Thursday, November 28th, 2013 on Feldes
Breath taking, heart stopping, awe inspiring body by Mother Nature, I believe. :) Darned good thing I don't have web access in my car, that's all I can say.
But on a broader note ...
So ... I need to ask a question. What do we do as commentators when our reaction to a shoot is 99% positive and 1% ... well, let's just say "not positive"? Do we keep our negativity to ourselves and let the community enjoy the shoot without drawing attention to something that may not have been bothering anyone until we pointed it out? Or, in the spirit of honest and open communication, do we say what's on our mind and assume we're all grown ups here and we can taken the clouds with the sun and be none the worse off?
I can go either way on this, but I would be interested in the "room's" take on this topic.
If I had wondered past this shoot in progress, I'd clearly have tripped all over myself, fallen in the water and drown! I'm a sucker for red hair in most forms, and this is no exception, except perhaps that its intensity kind of drives me wild. And those exotic eyes ... how NOT to be distracted? WHAT !!?? Did you see her breasts!! The size and shape are fantastic in the truest sense of the word! And then she turns around and I'm helpless as she bends over. Stone cold addicted.

I adore Viola and there is so much in this set to enjoy! I gave it a 10. I can only imagine its average rating is less than 9 because there aren't more "must have" individual images in the overall selection, which is a shame. But that's sort of like complaining about the color of the briefcase in which they deliver your first billion dollars. Which we do a lot of here, which is kind of ridiculous, but there you have it ... humanity. "Our highest assurance of the goodness of Providence seems to me to rest in the flowers. All other things, our powers, our desires, our food, are all really necessary for our existence in the first instance. But this rose is an extra. Its smell and its colour are an embellishment of life, not a condition of it. It is only goodness which gives extras, and so I say again that we have much to hope from the flowers.”

This is one of those photo shoots that convinces me 100% that this is a model I will follow and would definitely like to work with, NO doubt at all, utterly delightful and completely delicious.
BUT ... I hope her next appearance on Met-Art is with a photographer who handles her poses and lighting very differently.
Saturday, November 9th, 2013 on Despres
I too definitely have mixed feelings about this shoot. The model is a winner, hands down. No argument there, she's blowin' me away. The shoot, well ... it has its ups and downs. I love BDSM themes, and floggers are a personal favorite of mine, but did this one add that much to the shoot? Not so much. Did it ruin it for me? Nope. The hat ... a fun prop that would have been more enjoyable for me if it had disappeared from her head at some point and we'd gotten to see more of her wonderful face. The lighting? Well, folks who complain about low lighting levels probably enjoy this, but it's just a tad harsh for my tastes ... did it ruin the shoot for me? No. Poses aren't especially original or varied, especially given the number of shots included, but again, I've certainly seen a lot worse too.
In short, I think folks are disappointed by this shoot because, given the model, the potential for something utterly amazing was definitely there but not fully realized. Is this an enjoyable shoot for me, yes, it is. And such is life ... that which frustrates us can still bring pleasure, and that which pleases us can still be frustrating.

Macy is an all time favorite!!! I think Macy is a truly AMAZING model and I am always glad to see her work when she appears here. She just completely rocks.
But this set proves that not all photographers know what to do when presented with such an amazing woman. This model never disappoints, but this set is not an example of how to pose such a woman when you have the chance. Most shots in this set do not show us Macy from points of view which present her countless charms at their best.
I have been photographing women for the last 13 years and doing general photography for the last 40, and I understand what you're expressing. I am not sure whether it's a post production choice (Photoshop adjustment) or a problem with his initial set up, but the images have a higher level of contrast than I prefer. If you play around with image software and slide the contrast controls up and down, you'll see that the images go from overly soft and flat looking on one extreme, to overly intense (darks too dark, lights too bright) on the opposite. You and I prefer a less intense level of contrast. Whether this is a conscious choice on the part of the photographer or not, I can't say. Though, if you notice it in all of his work, that suggests it probably is a conscious choice.
That said, this can be an artistic preference. What appeals to one might not to another. There are people who would intentionally make their images look like this and there are those who would intentionally avoid this look. I'd prefer a bit lower level of contrast myself, but that's me.

As a photographer of women myself, I have so many different ways of seeing a shoot like this. First, the positive. Gorgeous, wonderful model! I'm so happy to see images of this woman. Face, hair, eyes, smile, body, all amazing! And the exposures ... once you learn about this sort of thing yourself, it's hard to ignore it in other people's work. Here, they are excellent. For a photographer, bad exposures of a great model can be really distracting. No such problems here. In general, this is a very enjoyable shoot for me and thanks to the photographer and model for presenting it. Room for improvement ... sure ... but I'll keep that bit to myself, as probably no body else cares. ;)

Sometimes when I look at a model, I know precisely why I'm attracted to her images. Other times, I don't know why exactly, but I know that I am. Katherine falls into that deliciously mysterious category for me. I find her utterly captivating. A delightful set of a delicious model! And what I love bout Met Art is how easy it is for me to now go and explore the rest of her sets!!

This isn't artistic license, this is photographic immaturity. She's a gorgeous, wonderfully curvy girl, but the use of center mounted flash is washing out and flattening the curves of an extremely curvy woman. That wasn't an artistic choice, that was a mistake. Period. Yes, as photographers of women, we are burdened with the knowledge of what could have been when we see someone miss the full potential of a shoot and/or a model. Does it diminish my enjoyment? No. DO I notice it. You bet.

Some days, when I log onto met-art to start my day something very special happens. Today is one of those days. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and each of us has our preferences and special inner switches which a particular look activates like no other. Ruzanna is one of those rare models for me. Thank you for introducing us to her. Breathtaking.

I must totally agree. I live in an area where there are many Ukrainian women and I'm consistently taken with how beautiful and sexy they are. Most of my favorite models on this site seem to be Ukrainian. And to think, for so many years, Ukraine was just another country on my "Risk" game board. I never knew what I was missing!

OK, this comment is a bit of a departure ... I LOVE this model and enjoy her work ... but her name throws me. I'm 50 years old and have traveled all around the world, but it wasn't until about 2 years ago that I came across a) this model and b) a co-worker named "Toxie". I have looked in a number of online name databases for any notion of the origins of such names but haven't found anything. Does anyone know the origins of this name? If so, please email me at twisted dot tales dot too at gmail dot com.

This model radiates a deeply sensual and subtly provocative eroticism in which I find myself delightfully and utterly lost. Bravo!

One of the things I LOVE about this model is how she can express sophistication and coyness in one moment and utter wanton lust in another. Fabulous!

I really enjoyed this romantic, erotic and very well executed set. It's not just like all the rest, and I'm happy to add it to my collection. This more artistic departure from the Met-Art norm happily stretches the imagination, while definitely remaining comfortably within the site's wide range of varying takes on female sensuality and erotic self expression.
In particular, this set bought back memories of some of the most explosive sexual experiences of my life, which involved extended and almost torturous foreplay, seemingly endless moments of "not yet" teasing, all deliriously capped off by luscious and intense indulgences in sheer "perfection in the flesh". Such a "Ravel's Bolero" for the senses results in utterly mind-blowing and volcanic physical and psychic release, but does requires patience and self-control not all can muster. It's wonderful to view a photo-set that so perfectly captures such experiences, a true feast for the eyes.
My profound thanks to both the photographer and model for creating this deliciously arousing set. It will be a favorite of mine for many years to come.

Due to the geo-political situation in the world from the mid-40's until the fall of the Soviet Union, the beauty of the women "behind the iron curtain" was largely unknown to me. The only women we saw from the USSR on a regular basis were Olympic Athletes, and many of them weren't overly feminine. Then the wall came down and the flood of amazingly gorgeous images of women from Russia, Ukraine and other former Soviet republics hit the internet. The greatest treasure the world has ever seen.
Now, over the years of my personal and online interaction with such women, I've discovered that probably 3 times out of 4, when a gorgeous WotFSU (Women of the Former Soviet Union) appears on my screen or in the real world before me, when I inquire as to where she's from, it's Ukraine. While I find most WotFSU compelling and captivating, there's something about Ukrainian women that tends to grab me the most. So thanks for finally letting us in on the secret! The world owes you a huge debt!

I sometimes see viewers use the keyword "big butt" when a series of shots features images where photographers consistently photograph a model from a lower angle of view (at or below waist height). Shooting from a lower angle creates the optical effect of emphasizing the bottom. Were the photographer to shoot at a downward angle, say from standing height, the effect would be to de-emphasize the bottom, making it appear smaller. The fact that a photographer chooses to shoot from a lower or direct on angle suggests a) the photographer thought her bottom was exceptionally worth focusing on and b) if anything, might require photographic techniques which emphasize it. Were a shooter to think a models bum was a bit on the larger side, they'd be more likely to shoot at a downward angle. Photography is a field where we have to learn to understand what we're seeing and not jump to conclusions. Having worked with hundreds of models over the years, I'd suggest these images are of a woman with a rather idyllic back side.

Low light requires wide aperture, resulting in shallow depth of field ... it's a serious challenge if you're not using studio flash, which tends to make everything look more artificial. It's certainly not as simple as it seems, but mastering the challenge sounds like fun. :)

Ah, gotcha. Now that I look at the photos again I can see what you're talking about. I have a friend in real life who does the same thing with her eyebrows. I would like to second the less intense lighting and more contrast. This seems to be a common problem om Metart.
I'd like to second the vote for more shots from behind.
Excellent assessment. Too many Met photographers are using this back lit style. It may give a slightly dreamlike look to the set but it sucks the life out of the photos. Everything loses definition and color. Sort of like you were there trying to see Xola with that bright light hurting your eyes. It also give the set a cold feel

Until the photogs stop posting pics of girls with sand on their soft bits, some of us will continue complaining... ( :
Of course, I'm a little more moderate in that I can admit that in many of these sets/vids the girls genuinely seem to enjoy playing in the sand. I did too, when I was a boy, so I can't begrudge them their fun.
Sunday, January 19th, 2014 on Izuzen
I'm surprised nobody mentioned the fact that the color of the sofa is so close to the color of her skin...no contrast. Very poor on the part of the photographer.
Thanks, Twisted... balance in everything; appreciation and respect for genuine effort; but a balanced and reasoned explanation of what bothers one and why.
I see absolutely no problem with your approach.
I feel that what some critics on this site do however is to be critical without providing the context or explanation, the way you just did.
I see no problem whatsoever with constructive criticism, so long as the intent is to explain exactly what bothers you and why, and provide your ideas for what would have made it better. That way the photographer (or model) has some idea of what to do differently, should they so choose.
Monday, January 6th, 2014 on Alseen
Thank you, For both your balanced touch and for noticing the green cast I had pointed out earlier. Some notice nothing wrong while I see it quite clearly. Just a matter of what your eyes are trained to see. It's a proven fact that the mind sees what it expects to see so we are often deceived by what the mind is telling us.
I try to balance my comments toward the positive side especially where the models are concerned but I don't feel that it is good to ignore less than great photography as this "IS" what the photographers are being paid for and what a site like Metart stands for.
Divina is nothing short of divine and deserves to be presented in the best possible way. I am not a fan of these harsh settings or of putting lovely ladies like this in harms way. I would prefer a warmer, gentler setting for such delicate flowers.
Yes, a very good point, but I see nothing wrong with a bit of friendly banter now and again ;P
Great words TT. So true... Hope you don't mind me repurposing your words for other situations.
In the days of film, "crop" had a specific meaning. It meant that you were printing only part of the overall negative. Thus "croping" it. That is different from filling the frame/negative with an isolated part of the subject. My guess is Twisted is correct that most of our isolation shots result from the zoom capacity of the digital camera's and what we see is what that frame was complete. Some times with some artists over repetition it is obvious.
Sound advice, but you CAN pick a favorite "one", even from the buffet table, and still 'enjoy all the rest'... Picking a favorite doesn't mean she's the only one you look for...right??
Your certainly have that right...;o)
I genuinely believe that any negative reaction is OK to air so long as one is not negative toward the model or just plain negative.
i.e. if something bothers you, go ahead and say it... but also explain what would have been better. "Constructive criticism" as it were.
I think the key is being tactful and considerate.
It must have been the wettest of wet dreams. Heaven!
I absolutely think the same way
Until MetArt, who knew?!? Other than the Ukrainians, of course. And they've obviously been very, very busy.
I predict their total overlordship of the entire planet before the next century. ( :

Hey Twisted, thanks for your answer and your explanation. I'm afraid that this is ~ as you say ~ simply an artistic preference of Arkisi's.
Saturday, October 19th, 2013 on Kansla
Ironically I did a post on a different set discussing essentially the same thing today. I ended with the same though in your last paragraph but not as well stated. The fact Arkisi responded is great. I do not recall you joining in often but I am so glad you did today. To have post by those of us who have had to do it, hopefully adds to a better understanding with the members. But personal taste will always be here. Both by the artists and the viewers. Viva la difference! It is what makes this whole site interesting....
There's no excuse for consistently under OR over exposed shots. There's more than a few software programs available that can manipulate RAW files. That manipulation includes but is not limited to adjusting exposure, contrast, white-balance, geometry, dust, noise, etc.
Examples of post-production RAW file editing software are Phaseone's CaptureOne, DxO Optics Pro, Aftershop Pro, Gimp, Adobe Photoshop.
Amen, brother (or sister, as the case may be).
It is nice to read someone so generous and easy to please.
I am a lot less generous and easy to please, but when a set gives me the images I enjoy, I'll be the first and loudest to shout it from the roof tops.
Edwidge has been a favorite of mine from her first set, but as yet can't crack the Top 100. This set was little more than a 'tits and knickers' show.
There was nothing here that was 'physically volcanic' or 'psychic releasing' for me. By golly, your terms in phraseology show me you are a very educated guy. Seriously.
For a set to be physically volcanic, in my opinion, the Mount has to erupt. I'm not talking Vesuvius or Krakatoa, I'm talking more about Mt. Ruapehu in NZ, which blows every few years, with little, but some lava making it to the cone.
The physically volcanic part, is where the model is obviously comfortable in her surroundings and with her shooter. The Psychic Release is the knowledge that this 'comfort' allows the model to tease the hell out of her viewers.
That's my idea of the 'Perfect' set.

Pro photogs should have studio lights! And aperture/depth of field is covered in Photography 101. I'm as baffled as tintin about the poor depth of field--not just this set, but many sets here suffer from it. I hope they're not doing it as an "artistic effect"!
